In the morning of August 29th, a delegation of over 70 members from Hong Kong and Macao of the Shantou, Jieyang, Chaozhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC, led by Chan Yau Nam, who is the co-Chairman of the Hong Kong Committee of the Shantou, Jieyang, Chaozhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC, visited GTIIT accompanied by Xie Ze Sheng, Chairman of Municipal Committee of CPPCC, and Cai Peinong, Deputy Chairman of Municipal Committee of CPPCC. Pro-Vice Chancellor Lin Danming, Assistant to Chancellor Chen Shaogang, Director of Students Affairs Liao Xuequan, and Director of News and Public Affairs Li Min attended the event.

Chan Waichi, Shantou Municipal Committee of CPPCC member and convener of Macao Group; Cheung Chung Chit, Jieyang Municipal Committee of CPPCC member and convener of Hong Kong Group, and Bob Chong, Chaozhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC member and convener of Hong Kong Group visited GTIIT this time.

Lin Danming expressed his warm welcome to all the distinguished guests and briefly introduced GTIIT's history, faculty, talent cultivation and international cooperation. PVC Lin said that GTIIT will make unremitting efforts to provide students with better academic environment, and cultivate innovative technologic talents for society.

Xie Zesheng encouraged them to give full play to advantages of resources and talents to support the development of GTIIT, and contribute to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Members spoke highly of GTIIT's high-quality faculty and advanced teaching concepts, and agreed with the importance of creating the highland of professionals for accelerating the construction of Shantou as a provincial sub-center city. They asked questions about enrollment requirements, teaching contents, research cooperation, etc. After that, Chan Yau Nam said he was glad to see high-quality educational resources developed in hometown, and looking forward to accelerating university-enterprise cooperation in the future thus to promote the development of Shantou.
