Exciting news! The first Shuangqing Forum - Youth Science Forum held in Shantou (Shuangqing - Nan'ao Youth Science Forum) will happen in the near future, and the theme of the first forum has been preliminarily determined.

From August 31 to September 1, the "Shuangqing - Nan'ao Youth Science Forum Steering Seminar" was held at Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). Representatives from the Planning and Policy Bureau of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Department of Chemical Sciences of the NSFC, Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Foundation participated in the seminar. Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT, and Tao Liang, Dean for Research at GTIIT, attended the meeting.

At the recent Guangdong Provincial Basic and Applied Basic Research Steering Meeting, Guangdong Science and Technology Department has announced the decision from the NSFC on supporting the Nan'ao Science Conference to host the Shuangqing Forum - Youth Science Forum. GTIIT, as one of the organizers and Secretariat Office of the Nan'ao Science Conference, has been actively engaged in communication, preparation, and organization for the hosting of the first Shuangqing - Nan'ao Youth Science Forum.

This seminar primarily delved into the specific preparations for the Shuangqing - Nan'ao Youth Science Forum, including the forum's positioning, supporting mechanism, topic selection, expert composition, and the estimated event time. After in-depth discussions, it’s been preliminarily agreed upon the theme of the first forum, and the forum will be held as soon as possible in the near future.

During the visit, Chancellor Gong Xingao introduced the teaching quality and research progress of GTIIT to the visitors. The guests toured the laboratories of the young key researchers of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, as well as the South and North campuses of GTIIT.

This seminar also determined the future international development direction of the Shuangqing - Nan'ao Youth Science Forum, which has taken a big step forward for the sustainable development of the forum.
