Yesterday, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) held the Launching Ceremony of GTllT Board Meeting Room on the south campus. Donated by Shantou Xintao Resort Co., Ltd., the boardroom contributed to the construction progress of GTIIT.

At the ceremony, Prof. Gong Xingao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chancellor of GTIIT, presented a letter of thanks and a donation medal to Mr. Zhang Shihao, Chairman of Shantou Xintao Resort Co., Ltd., and together they unveiled the plaque for the boardroom. 

Wang Xuezhu, Vice Mayor of Shantou; Huang Huiyang, a member of GTIIT Board; Lin Jian, second Inspector of Shantou Government Office; Wang Jianbo, Deputy Director of Shantou Education Bureau; Chen Yugan, Deputy Director of Shantou Science and Technology Bureau; as well as representatives from various departments of GTIIT, attended the launching ceremony.

The ceremony was hosted by Dr. Queena Yi, President of GTIIT Education Foundation and Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT.

Chancellor Gong expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all faculty and students of GTIIT to Mr. Zhang Shihao for his generous donation. He noted that the boardroom is not just a physical space but the heart of decision-making at GTIIT. The meetings held here inject continuous momentum into the university's development. This donation not only showcases the close collaboration between Xintao Resort and GTIIT but also embodies the shared belief of enterprises and universities moving forward together and co-creating the future.

Mr. Zhang Shihao highly praised GTIIT's outstanding educational philosophy, innovative talent cultivation, and research capabilities. "This university is the ocean of knowledge, the starting point of dreams, and the beginning of a more splendid life." He hoped this donation could be an opportunity to work hand in hand with GTIIT to promote technological innovation and social progress.

Following the ceremony, GTIIT leaders accompanied the donors to visit the boardroom and watch the presentation inside. Mr. Zhang Shihao extended his best wishes to the university for achieving more fruitful results in the new semester.

Recently, well-wishers from all sectors of society and some enterprises and institutions have actively donated to GTIIT, propelling the vigorous development of the university. The convergence of support serves as both encouragement and motivation. GTIIT will live up to the expectations of all sectors and continue to enhance educational and technological innovation levels, delivering a satisfactory GTIIT answer sheet for high-quality social development.
