Great Success In 2024 GT Gaokao Admission

The Gaokao admission process of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) in 2024 has concluded with great success. This year, GTIIT admitted 608 new undergraduate students from 16 provinces (cities) including Beijing, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing, Sichuan, and Guizhou, reaching a completion rate of 110%. Despite the new enrolments being 1.15 times that of the previous year, the quality of student pool has comprehensively surpassed the past, attaining a significant increase in high-scoring candidates with 600+ marks, and a notable improvement in admission rankings, with an average advance of nearly 7,000 places and 20% leap in the minimum ranking. The continuous progress in both the scale of enrollment and the quality of students will lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the university.


|Admission Results in Guangdong Province|

A Continuous Leap in Enrollment Size and Student Quality


This year, GTIIT admitted 322 students on the basis of the planned 275 enrollment number within Guangdong Province, achieving a completion rate of 117%. Despite the number of admissions being 1.2 times that of the previous year, the quality of student pool increased. The highest score accepted was 633, while the average admission score surpassed the special control line for physics by 30 points. Moreover, the lowest admission ranking improved by 10,332 places compared to last year. The results indicated a continuous leap in both the quality and quantity of students admitted to GTIIT.


In terms of the geographical distribution, the number of students from the Pearl River Delta cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen continued to increase, constituting 84% of the total intake in Guangdong. The three cities with the highest number of admissions were: Shenzhen with 98 students, accounting for 30.43%; Guangzhou with 76 students, accounting for 23.6%; and Shantou with 46 students, accounting for 14.3%.


Rising Application Popularity and Strong Recognition by Key High Schools


This year, Chaoyang Experimental School in Shantou City was the high school having the most students admitted by GTIIT within the province, which set a new record with 28 students. High schools with a significant number of admissions (ranked by the number of students) include:

|Admission Results Outside Guangdong Province|

Comprehensive Breakthroughs in Multiple Dimensions


This year, GTIIT planned to recruit 270 students from outside Guangdong Province, actually admitted 286, achieving a completion rate of 106%. The average admission scores in various provinces exceeded the local first batch line/special control line by 59 points, with an average English score of 125 points.


Admission results in each province (city) have improved to varying degrees, with the highest scores in some provinces reaching the level of domestic 985 universities. The lowest admission rankings in provinces such as Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hunan, and Hubei have mounted by 20% or more compared to last year. Provinces where the lowest admission rankings have risen by more than 10,000 places include Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, and Hebei.


GTIIT's recognition in first-tier cities and coastal developed areas has significantly advanced. Following last year's successful start, the recruitment number this year in Beijing was doubled, and the admission scores have risen for two consecutive years. In provinces including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Shandong, the admission scores also showed a steady rising trend, with the recruitment scale growing year by year, contributing to more than 42% of the total number of students recruited from outside Guangdong Province. Among them, Jiangsu, with a 22% increase in the number of admitted students in comparison to 2023, has continued to produce fruitful results. Its lowest admission ranking improved by more than 21,000 places this year.


Superior High Schools Form a Talent Lineup for GTIIT


The majority of students admitted from outside Guangdong Province mainly hail from key high schools across various provinces (cities), including Tsinghua University High School, Beijing 101 High School, The Second High School Attached to BNU, Changzhou No. 1 High School, High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Wuxi No. 1 High School, High School Affiliated to Fudan University, Pudong Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University, Zhejiang Province Hangzhou NO.14 High School, Shandong Experimental High School, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University, Fuzhou No. 1 High School, Xiamen Shuangshi High School, NO.2 Middle School of Shijiazhuang, Hebei Zheng-Zhong Experimental High School, Guiyang No. 1 High School, Henan Experimental High School, Zhengzhou Foreign Language School New Fengyang Campus, Wuhan No. 6 High School, NO.1 Middle School affiliated to Central China Normal University, Changjun High School in Changsha, Yali High School in Changsha, Nanchang No. 2 High School, Nanchang Foreign Language School, Chengdu Foreign Languages School, Chengdu Shishi High School in Sichuan Province, Chongqing Nankai Secondary School and Chongqing BI Academy, among others.


Students Excel in Subject Specialties and Comprehensive Qualities


From the perspective of subject specialties, among the admitted students, 17 have won provincial awards in Olympiads of the five major subjects or national-level awards or above in science and technology innovation competitions. These include a third prize at the national level in the National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI), a first prize in the World Robot Contest Finals, a provincial first prize in the National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces (NOIP), a provincial first prize in the Youth Science and Technology Innovation Contest, a provincial second prize in the Mathematics Olympiad, and a provincial second prize in the Biology Olympiad.


A wide range of extracurricular interests and specialities in arts and entertainment demonstrate the comprehensive qualities of the admitted students. In the "Specialty" section of the students' files, many students show talents in musical instruments, chess, photography, calligraphy, painting, sports, dance, etc. Some have passed the tenth level tests in instruments such as piano, violin, bamboo flute, saxophone, guqin, and trumpet, as well as in Chinese dance and traditional Chinese painting. The black belt of Taekwondo can also be seen in the files. There are also students who hold positions such as the principal clarinetist in the school orchestra, conductor of the orchestral ensemble, emcee, and those skilled in radio direction finding, robot programming, and aviation model making.
