Before the concert begins, let's learn some symphony etiquette.

No.1 Familiarize Yourself with the Program

Before the concert begins, it is important for the audience to get familiar with the program. Prior knowledge of the music pieces allows the audience to fully immerse themselves in the specific mood conveyed by the music, eliciting emotional resonance.

No.2 Dress Code Etiquette

Appropriate attire not only showcases personal refinement but also demonstrates respect and courtesy towards the performers. Therefore, attendees should strive to maintain a clean and tidy appearance at the concert, avoiding overly casual attire such as pajamas, slippers, shorts, or eccentric clothing. Please opt for appropriate dressing.

No.3 Punctuality

Being punctual is essential in any setting, and lateness is considered impolite. On the day of the performance, it is advisable to arrive approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, with latecomers required to wait and come in during break in the program. According to international standards, children under the age of 6 are not allowed to enter.

Arriving early allows individuals to familiarize themselves with the surroundings, offering ample time to peruse the concert introductions and music explanations. This enables attendees to listen to the music attentively and showcases respect for the performing group and artists.

No.4 No Photography, Videography, or Audio Recording

Photography, videography, and audio recording are strictly prohibited at concerts. This is due to the complex copyright issues involved in concerts, including strict copyright restrictions on performers and musical scores. Additionally, the use of camera flashes and sounds from cameras or mobile phones can significantly disrupt the performances of the artists on stage and the overall artistic ambiance.

No.5 Maintain Silence During the Performance

The immersive experience of a concert is highly valued, and any sudden additional sounds while listening to the music can greatly affect the overall enjoyment. Therefore, please maintain silence during the performance, refrain from engaging in private conversations, switch your mobile phone to silent or vibrate mode, and avoid making or receiving phone calls.

No.6 Time Your Applause

To preserve the integrity of the musical piece, please refrain from applauding between movements and remain quiet. The appropriate times to applaud are when the conductor's hands drop completely and the violinist's bow leaves the strings with both hands naturally falling simultaneously.

No.7 Applaud at the Curtain Call

After the conclusion of all movements, the conductor or performers typically bow to the audience. This is the moment to freely applaud and express gratitude to the artists. During the curtain call, please refrain from leaving early. Audience should enthusiastically applaud during the final program and then exit the venue in an orderly manner once the performers have left the stage or the curtain has closed.
