With the end of a busy and fulfilling semester, the winter vacation is coming. Whether you are at school or at home, it’s significant to always take the initiative to learn health knowledge, improve health protection skills, and protect the health of yourself and your family. Come check the vacation health guide prepared by GTIIT Clinic.
GT Vacation Health Guide
No.1 Get enough rest and exercise
1. Try to keep a healthy daily routine during vacation, and ensure 8 hours of sleep each day.
2. Regular exercise will help boost your mood and energy. Have an hour of exercise such as push-ups and sit-ups each day.
No.2 Eat a balanced diet
1. Avoid binge eating; no smoking or heavy drinking.
2. Choose safe food and drinks; prevent food poisoning.
3. Maintain a regular three-meal pattern. Base your diet on cereals, with more fresh vegetables and fruits. Eat fish, poultry, meat, eggs and nuts in moderation. Stay hydrated, with less fast food and sugary drink intake.
4. Handle raw and cooked ingredients separately and always maintain hand hygiene.
5. Choose a restaurant with a food business license. Use serving spoons and chopsticks when dining together.
No.3 Wash hands regularly
1. Wash your hands regularly and properly. Don't touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
2. Ventilate the rooms more for fresh air circulation.
3. Be aware of weather conditions and potential travel disruptions before traveling, and pack enough clothes for changing temperatures.
4. Better postpone your travel if fever, cough and other symptoms occur.
No.4 Take personal protection
1. During influenza seasons, avoid peak activity places where people crowd and remember to wear a mask.
2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or bend your elbow when you cough or sneeze. Throw the used tissue into the trash can and wash your hands promptly.
No.5 Obey traffic rules
1. Avoid jaywalking, and pay attention to road signals.
2. Check your vehicle's condition before using it, and wear a helmet while riding an electric bicycle.
3. Try not to eat in a moving car, to prevent food getting into the respiratory tract in case of emergency brake.
Happy new year to everyone and may you have a wonderful winter vacation!
