Following summer is autumn, when the breeze becomes cool and brisk, signaling the end of our summer holiday. This colorful period is full of happiness, unforgettable experiences, and lasting memories, making it one of the most beautiful moment of your college life. Now, let’s take a look at GTers’ summer holiday this year.

Travel to broaden horizons

During this summer holiday, I took part in the Technion’s summer program. I went to the Bahá’í Garden as soon as we settled ourselves in Haifa. The Bahá’í Garden is very pretty and from the top of it you can have a full version of the Haifa’s new port.

This summer, I went to Technion for summer program. In this holiday, MCS program arranged more than ten lectures, and showed the charm of mathematics. After the grogram, I revisited Israel’s “Salt Island” in the Dead Sea. During sunrise and sunset, the sea surface is sunset yellow. In the daytime, it is emerald green, and agate blue in the evening. On a sunny summer day, you can see the reflection of the sun and moon, and in cloudy weather, it will be mirrored. It is very worth visiting.

It is said that in Israel, 10 out of every 20 teenagers enjoy watching cartoons and 5 of them have played Chinese mobile games. The culture here is diverse, with an interest in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and European cultures. I participated in the annual Comic Expo held in Jerusalem. It may be smaller in scale compared to domestic comic expos and was yet commercialized. It felt more like a large "Gakuenki" of the anime club and it was common to see the same character with different styles of makeup.

Go where the wind blows in the summer. In the summer vacation after the college entrance examination, my family and I travelled to Yunnan, where the weather is cool. I encountered different ethnic minorities and learned about diverse ethnic cultures.

 

In Lijiang, the clouds of this ancient city are very light, and the time here seems to slow down. I drank the yak milk tea with rich milky fragrance, took photos in front of the Mirror of the Sky with the posture of my favourite Chinese dance in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County. In Kunming, I visited the Stone Forest where the sky is vast, the clouds are gentle, and the mountains are dotted with mist. I wandered through the stone forest and felt the uncanny workmanship of nature. We also climbed Yulong Snow Mountain, and I realized the mountains and rivers are magnificent, and the beauty of the world is worth me to go.

When I first came to Japan, it turned out that the clouds in Miyazaki's painting really existed. I experienced the complex traffic network of Tokyo, went to Shibuya to see the bustling night scene of Tokyo, visited the beautiful Kamakura to see the sea, experienced the stay in the capsule hotel, climbed the Japan's iconic Mount Fuji, and met Mia and Ariz from the United States and Daniel from Colombia. After 7-hour effort, I reached the top of the mountain, saw the bright stars and the sunrise, made friends from foreign countries with the same goal. The last day I went to Fushimi Inari-taisha, met Max and Vincent brothers from Germany.

 

But travel is not always smooth. I faced challenges like no cash, no electricity, no network, and spared no effort but caught the wrong car. However, these will also be a precious treasure in my life, this may be the difference between travel and mere tourism.

It is such a fantastic thing to travel around our motherland, China. So why not give the western region of China a shot? Here, not only can you experience the overwhelming desert, but you can enjoy the amazing stars that you can't even catch a glimpse of in the city

This was my first trip to Hongyadong, Chongqin with my friends. The beautiful buildings and glamorous views were quite fascinated, which also reflected the prosperity of this city.

Exercise to keep fit

I spent a well-planned summer vacation, and by scheduling and executing weight loss and exercise plan, I successfully lost 5 kilograms. I really enjoy my self-discipline state.

Find beauty in life

After the college entrance examination, I cooked for my first time. All of these dishes tasted great and were praised by my parents. I planned to learn swimming after the high school entrance exam, but failed due to the COVID-19. So this year I tried and succeed. I had my coming-of-age ceremony at the beginning of August, and at the same time received my admissions letter from GTIIT. I travelled to Suzhou and Nan'ao Island as well, enjoying the beautiful sunset and the orange sea in Nan’ao.

This summer holiday, I stayed at GTIIT as a peer mentor. I saw the beautiful sunset during the preparatory semester which symbolized the hopeful beginning of GT freshmen.

In this summer vacation I came to Shantou city where GTIIT located in and felt the beautiful summertime in the subtropical area.
