Today is the 39th Teachers' Day in China. To extend warm holiday greetings to teachers in this special day, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) launched a series of activities. These have also promoted the noble ethics of teachers and fostered a respectful atmosphere of education.

Greetings from Party Secretary Wen

On September 6, on behalf of the Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Shantou Municipal Government, Wen Zhanbin, Party Secretary of Shantou, led a team to extend greetings and sincere regards to all faculty and staff of GTIIT and Shantou University (STU) for the coming Teachers' Day, and expressed the hope for both universities' support in local economic development and the construction of high-level universities.

Secretary Wen praised the strides made by GTIIT in talent cultivation, disciplinary growth, research innovation, and industry partnerships. He hoped the university would further elevate its educational standards, deepen local collaborations, and leverage its role as a bridge for China-Israel exchanges. Wen also emphasized the importance of aligning with Israel's advanced technology to provide intellectual support for Shantou's scientific and economic development. He affirmed continued support for GTIIT and the pursuit of high-quality education.

Leaders and representatives of GTIIT attended the meeting, where they reported on the university's academic operations and recent key initiatives.

Meeting of Educator's Ethics and Professionalism

On September 8, GTIIT held a meeting on the enhancement of teachers' moral and ethical values.

Education, science and technology, and human resources are the foundational and strategic pillar for our country. During the meeting, Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, said in his speech that as a Sino-foreign cooperative university of science and engineering, GTIIT has its own uniqueness in STEM talents. He hoped that all GTIIT teachers will keep in mind their educational mission, enhance their sense of responsibility, and make progress in teaching and scientific research.

GTIIT teacher representatives watched the thematic report on teacher and studied the principles of professional behavior for university educators in the new era.

At the oath-taking ceremony, the teachers stood before the national flag and promised that they would fortify their professional beliefs and missions.

High School Teachers Visited GTIIT

GTIIT welcomed the teachers from high schools during this year's Teachers' Day, providing them the opportunities to visit the campus and engage in the sports.

Teachers from nearly 50 high schools signed up for the activity. Many of them paid their first visit to the campus and thumbed up for the international and beautiful university.

The teachers actively got involved in the two-day activity, with various sports participation session opened for them, including climbing wall, basketball court, swimming pool, track field and gym, etc.
