I am honored and humbled to stand here, representing, for the first time, postgraduate students at the graduation ceremony at GTIIT. Honestly, this is also the very first time I do a public speech to such a large audience. On reflection, there is so much that GT passed on to me over the past 2 years of my master's studies, and I will take this chance to share a few important ones.

First, I emphasize the spirit of risk-taking, "no risk, no gain", which goes beyond the stock market. In the lab, everyone always attempts something new, something unknown, something for the very first time. And naturally, one would fear. I had that feeling when using a spot-welder in the lab 2 years ago, and I actually have such a similar feeling right now talking to you. But now, I dare confront the feeling of fear, because I am trained by GT to be willing to take the risk.

Second, I emphasize the power of action; "no action, no reward". Again, in the lab, everyone has to do work, lots of hard work promptly, to produce new data, from where science is born. In our lab, for example, I used a rather sensitive microscope to see individual silver atoms on silicon surfaces. It was so cool, but to make it work, I often stayed working on the microscope till midnight, and admittedly life was tough over these miserable months, which, however, brought prosperity to the end.

Third, I emphasize the value of critical thinking. "Plato is dear to me, but dearer still is truth", as Aristotle said; or, "Chutzpah" as GT teaches me. It becomes a routine now for me to argue with others in the lab when exchanging ideas, and we cherish each other for providing independent opinions out of critical thinking. 

It is the past two years at GT that equips me as someone, who is willing to take risks, who acts promptly, and who thinks critically. And on this, I thank everyone who helped me along the way in GT, particularly my supervisors, Associate Professor Kai Huang and Prof. Alon Hoffman. Last but not least, I thank my family, which is present here. It is your endless love that has supported me since the day I was born.
