The end of the Gaokao marks not only the release of students, but also a critical time for them and their parents to get admission information and choose their desired institutions and majors. On June 11, the "2023 GTIIT Undergraduate Recruitment Consultation and the Technovation - Celebrating Israel's 75 Years of Excellence", hosted by the Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou and co-organized by GTIIT, was held in Guangzhou.
The event attracted students from key high schools in Guangzhou, Qingyuan, Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Shantou, Heyuan, Shaoguan, and other cities. The atmosphere was ignited, kicking off a "summer carnival" that combined technology, culture, art, and food.
The event was presided over by Mr. Aviv Zell, Deputy Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, and Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT.
Mr. Alex Goldman Shayman, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, pointed out that GTIIT is the key project of China-Israel cooperation in science and education. "GTIIT was established only a few years ago and served as a beacon of international scientific cooperation. As the China campus of the Technion, GTIIT strives to integrate the innovative and groundbreaking spirit of Israel with immense recourses of China."
Mr. Luo Jun, Inspector at Level 1 from Foreign Affairs Office of People's Government of Guangdong Province, stated in his speech that over these years, Guangdong and Israel have worked hand in hand for mutual progress and win-win cooperation. Significant achievements were made in areas such as technological innovation and joint educational programs, as represented by key projects like GTIIT. The two sides will have more bountiful harvests in our future cooperation.
Mr. Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He said that GTIIT is the flagship program in the cooperation between China and Israel. Introducing the educational recourses of the Technion, the world-renowned university, it strives to cultivate pioneering scientists and researchers with innovative thinking, global vision and humanities. GTIIT's collaborative innovation platforms have been instrumental in enhancing scientific research and academic cooperation between China and Israel since the establishment in December, 2016. Beyond its academic mission, it has committed to promoting the development of bilateral relations through education, culture and science.
The colorful carnival activities allowed the audience to experience the convergence of education, science, technology, and innovation. They witnessed the great achievements of the Technion and GTIIT and watched intriguing experiments conducted live on stage by GTIIT professors, as well as participated in captivating GTIIT Q&A games.
"Can anyone tell me the underlying principle behind this?" asked Moris S. Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Chemistry Professor of GTIIT, during his conducting a science popularization experiment. Through friendly interaction, he inspired them to discover the secrets of science and unleash their curiosity.
At the event, attendees were treated to an immersive experience of Israeli culture and technology through a range of engaging activities, including Israeli snacks, knowledge quizzes, Israeli blind box lotteries, paintings of Israeli hanging ornaments, and robot exhibitions.
GTIIT recruitment team was on site to answer questions for students and parents. Participants flocked to the booth, eager to learn about admission policies, programs, study experiences, and scholarships.
On June 18, GTIIT will conduct an exciting campus open day event, where visitors can immerse themselves in English-medium courses, visit top-notch laboratories, get a glimpse of the south campus, and communicate face-to-face with professors from different programs. The registration has started – don't hesitate to join!
