Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) has engaged in active collaboration with high schools in recent years, including the launches of science lectures, career talks, and school visits, which are effective practices to inspire teenagers to explore the fun of scientific research and assist their career planning.
On May 25th, nearly 200 teachers and students from Dongguan No.4 Senior High School visited GTIIT to experience university life, including lab visits, campus tour and demo class.
"Welcome to GTIIT!"
The welcome meeting was held at the auditorium. Lawrence LIAO, Director of the Student Affairs Department of GTIIT, welcomed the teachers and the students, and introduced the characteristics of GTIIT's program and the achievements of GTIIT's talent cultivation, giving the students and teachers a new understanding of this research-oriented university in east Guangdong.
Demo Class
Cao Yuping, a PhD student from GTIIT Biotechnology and Food Engineering Progam gave a science lecture entitled "Exploring the Tiny Giants: Your Microbiology Lab Tour" to the students. He introduced traditional microbiology and food microbiology in an accessible way. Through demonstrations and interactions, students were guided to experience the beauty of science and the fun of experiments.
Campus Tour
Led by a team of senior students from GTIIT, students from Dongguan No.4 Senior High School visited the biology lab, dormitory area, and graffiti wall in the north campus, as well as the gym, basketball court, and climbing wall in the south campus. The beautiful campus and the world-class labs deeply attracted the students' attention.
This visit built a bridge between GTIIT and Dongguan No.4 High School. In the future, GTIIT will continue to shoulder the social responsibility of cultivating talents, implement the fundamental task of morality education, and actively promote the integration of high school and higher education.
