On May 14th, the Parent Lecture guided by Shanghai Municipal Educational Examinations Authority (SMEEA) and Shanghai Education Bureau of Huangpu District, hosted by Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) and co-organized by Shanghai Huangpu Youth Art Activity Center was held in Shanghai Huangpu Youth Art Activity Center. About 100 students, parents, professors and business people from all over Shanghai participated.

Prof. Gong Xingao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chancellor of GTIIT; Liu Yuxiang, Party Secretary and President of SMEEA; Guo Jinhua, Director of Shanghai Education Bureau of Huangpu District; Dr. Queena Yi, Associate Pro Vice Chancellor and head of Shanghai Admissions Team of GTIIT attended.

Guo Jinhua pointed out that the comprehensive education reform is accelerating the high-quality development of Huangpu education, under the goals of creating an exquisite zone for education development, leading zone for education reform and pilot zone for innovative education. Shanghai Huangpu Youth Art Activity Center is a national research and practice base for primary and secondary school students named by the Ministry of Education. The series of Parent Lectures focus on hot topics such as policy interpretation and emotion management, and famous experts in various fields are invited to give theme sharings.

Liu Yuxiang encouraged parents to consider their children's preferences in advance, make full use of the aspiration quota and have in-depth research and discussion within family. He also introduced GTIIT's advantages in science and engineering programs, its broad growth space, and students' no need to sign up in advance.

Based on his experience as a university chancellor and researcher, Prof. Gong Xingao shared his perspective on the current education system in China. He pointed out the importance of cultivating high-tech talents to align with the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Vision of 2035, with critical thinking as the core indicator of the innovation ability in university education. He took two examples of GTIIT students, hoping that the university would complement the modern education system and enable students to develop themselves.

Dr. Queena Yi presented a comprehensive overview of GTIIT, highlighting its location, campus environment, hardware facilities and profound educational history while showcasing its high-level academic management team, world-leading education mode and promising development platform. The positioning of GTIIT as "the China Campus of Technion" and "research university focusing on science and technology" has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the audience.

Two parents of outstanding GTIIT students offered valuable insights on their children's learning methods, university selection strategies, and career paths.

In the Q&A session, students and parents asked questions about GTIIT's curriculum, faculty team, application conditions, graduation and other aspects, showing strong interest in the university.
