A Letter to all GTers

Dear GTIIT Family,

At present, the situation of covid-19 prevention and control has become increasingly complicated. There have been clusters of infection in several campuses in the country. Therefore, we are taking every step to ensure the health and safety of all GTIIT staff and students.

Adhering to the principle of tackling both imported and domestic infections, GTIIT has set up a leading group of pandemic prevention and control experts to implement specific measures for the spring semester. We intend to carefully manage people flow and logistics to prevent the spread of covid-19 and to ensure the safety of everyone at the GTIIT campus.

The spirit of "Chutzpah" runs in the blood of all GTers. We are convinced that the pandemic cannot and should not stop us from moving forward. Students study hard to pursue truth and knowledge and to fulfill their dreams. Our staff are dedicated to their duties and determined to overcome all challenges to ensure normal operation of teaching and scientific research on campus.

Today, in the campus clinic, nucleic acid testing for all GTers is taking place in an orderly fashion. In the canteen, teachers and students alike have meals on tables separated by partitions. On the campus paths, hand sanitizers, soap dispensers and other facilities are installed in the hand disinfection areas and "Six Steps of Handwashing" are posted in both English and Chinese in many places. Everyone on campus makes an effort to prevent covid-19 and to ensure campus safety.

We are very proud of you and want to thank every teacher, student and colleague!

In this special and difficult period, the enthusiasm of helping each other, the cohesiveness of uniting, as well as the perseverance and courage are precious and important. Soon the university will establish and improve the joint prevention and control mechanism for inside and outside the campus, strengthen information sharing and communication for early detection and response implementation, so as to strengthen the campus pandemic defense.

As the Qingming festival vacation approaches, we hope that everyone will stay safe and healthy, and comply with the prevention rules. It is recommended to stay on guard and avoid unnecessary travel and gathering. Wear masks and maintain social distancing outside. Cooperate in taking body temperature and show the health QR code when entering key places.

We firmly believe that the dark cloud of covid-19 will disperse soon. Let us join hands and work together to consolidate the lines of defense against the coronavirus.
