She, by developing high-performance wearable electronics for personalized health care management, especially for the elderly individuals and subjects with chronic conditions, protects the “silver generation” with advanced technology.

Assistant Professor Wang Yan from the Chemical Engineering Program worked as postdoctoral researcher in the University of Tokyo, developing stretchable electronic skin sensors and energy devices. In the soft electronics field, Dr. Yan Wang has published more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in flagship journals like Science, Science Advances, PNAS, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Nano, and Materials Horizons in the last five years. She has also applied for 1 Chinese patent, 1 US patent, and 2 Japanese patents.

She, by giving directions to students, guides them in further study and career planning.

Dr. Chen Fen graduated from the Department of Psychology at Pennsylvania State University and has led career coaching at prestigious universities such as University of Minnesota.

She, an educator who cares a lot about students, lights creative sparks in her class. 

Dr. Constance Van Horne holds an MBA and PhD in management from Laval University in Quebec City, Canada, and continues to do research in entrepreneurship and higher education teaching in STEM. In 2020 she was co-awarded the 2020 Teaching Reform Project from the Guangdong Provincial Government for a project on the Nobel Prize that develops scientific curiosity and question asking skills in students taking the Communications class.

She, centering her research around functionalization of metals surface, stable isotopes application in materials science, mass spectrometry and corrosion at the nanoscale, has made significant contributions in fields of material.

Associate Professor Aleksandra Baron-Wiechec has been awarded the Maria Sk?odowska-Curie Actions, a very prestigious European Fellowship Programme. She conducted research at the University of Manchester (UK), and has worked many years for the UK Atomic Energy Authority. Aleksandra has published research outcomes in over 90 peer review papers.

She says, "There is no amazing woman without an amazing man standing right next to her. Being a woman in engineering, technology and technical science can be challenging and lonely at times. That is why I wish all my female colleagues and students that they will always meet exceptional, attentive and supportive male colleagues on their career path."

She, expert in Water Microbiology, also “yyds (a Chinese buzzword means ‘the greatest of all time’)” for students.

Dr. Sara Rodriguez Martinez is a teacher in Biotechnology and Food Engineering. Her research topics included the improvement of pathogen detection techniques in water environments, understanding the behavior of pathogens in water, evaluation of the efficiency of water treatments, risk assessment of reused water and water disinfection methods. She has published 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals and attended numerous professional meetings where she presented both talks and posters.

They, spend every spring and autumn together with material science research, show a romance of science and engineering in the GTIIT Electron Microscopy Center, the highest electron microscopy analysis platform among the universities in the Eastern Guangdong Province.

The two electron microscope engineers of GTIIT Electron Microscopy Center, Shen Jingfang and Zhang Wenjing, have solid theoretical basis and rich practical experience in electron microscopy. Their research provides basic scientific support for material performance optimization and further application.

For most of us, our mother is the most familiar, and also the very first one woman to know. Let's give best wishes to the women who made half the history of mankind, and also to the beloved women around us.

My mother, an angel in white, has worked for more than 30 years. From the operating room, to the medical ward, surgical ward and drug testing fields, she never asked for a sick leave and has helped countless people. Even when she was pregnant, she stood in operating room for more than 10 hours until the operation was completed. 

My mother showed me the "great love" of angels in white, and also made me understand the self-pursuit of women in their careers.

Fu Fanyang:

I'm sure many people will think of their mothers on International Women's Day, like me.  My mother is not as special as those in other people's stories, but no matter where I am, she will always be an irreplaceable soft spot in my heart.

Since I was born, more and more people call her "Mom of Fanyang" instead of her name.  As a mother, she left her hometown and familiar relatives and friends, and put her life's focus almost 100 percent on me.  To this day, I firmly believed that the struggle she went through is a lot more than I think. But she never showed the pain in her heart, just let me feel like moonlight on the calm lake of the general maternal love.  When my emotional thinking is not mature,I take everything for granted, use the most vicious words again and again to hurt the love OF my deepest people, and sometimes even complacent about this.

Then, my sister came into the world.  In the third perspective, I finally saw how much a mother sacrificed for her children. Since then, not the prettiest sonnet has been written in her praise, not the clearest starry sky can compare with her, the highest comment I would be willing to give would be "like my mother when she was young."  

When walking in the campus, we can always see them. In every second of time in GTIIT, we enjoy their company and love.

In dormitories, dining halls, libraries... They constantly manage the student dormitories, prepare the meals, and take care of every inch of the campus for teachers and students. They are our kind "auntie".
