On December 23, the 6th Session of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology’s (GTIIT) Second Board Meeting was held both online and offline to summarize the achievement and experience in the past year and give valuable advices for GTIIT’s future.
Participants attending the meeting included Jiang Hong, Chairman of GTIIT Board; Uri Sivan, Vice-Chairman of GTIIT Board; and other Board members: Gong Xingao, Wang Quan, Huang Huiyang, Aaron Ciechanover, Oded Rabinovitch, and Boaz Golany. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Hong.
The Meeting approved the minutes and summary of the Board Meeting held on July 8th, heard reports on Academic Affairs, Undergraduate Studies, Recruitments, Student Affairs, Campus Constructions and Operations, the Development Planning of the Affiliated International School, etc., and updated the application for the next five-year budget application.
Board members, leaders and guests listened the reports, affirmed GTIIT’s achievements in constructing disciplines and cultivating talents, and congratulated the university on the major breakthroughs in scientific research projects and platform construction.
Participants of the Meeting contributed ideas for GTIIT’s development on aspects of running school and talent cultivation.
Other attendees included David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Wayne Kaplan, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of GTIIT; Eran Gal-Or, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT; Dr. Frieda Lo, representative from Li Ka-Shing Foundation. Directors from GTIIT, Shantou Uniersity, Shantou Municipal Government and the representative from GTIIT Affiliated International School also attended the meeting.
