On November 19, the second Student Congress was held at GTIIT Auditorium. Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT and Li Min, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, attended the meeting with 49 student representatives.

In the Congress, student representatives reviewed and adopted the work report of the third Student Association, and voted to elect members of the second committee and the executive branch of the forth Student Association.

Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT pointed out that the Student Association has played an important role in enriching campus culture, promoting the development of students and protecting students' interests.

He also suggested that the next Student Association should also take the initiative to serve students and promote the development of the Student Association with reform and innovation. 

Subsequently, Cheng Xueying, President of the third Student Association of GTIIT, made a report on the work of the third Student Association. She summarized and reviewed the achievements and experience of the Student Association , pointed out the existing problems, and put forward suggestions for the next Student Association.

Five representatives were elected as members of the newly-built committee of the Student Association to supervise and help the work of the Association. All the student representatives voted to elect the forth presidium members of the Association after the presidium candidates’ campaign speeches.

Liu Xiaoqi and Xing Jiani, the new presidium members of the third Student Association said that being elected means that they should shoulder more responsibilities and work harder to serve students. They will unite and coordinate all departments, listen to the voices of students, strive for innovation, enliven the campus atmosphere, and further strengthen the connection between students and the university.

Li Min, Secretary of the GTIIT Youth League Committee, delivered the closing speech of the Congress. She first thanked the members of the third Student Association for their work in the past year and looked forward to the new presidium leading the new team and continuing to serve students.
