On November 13, 2021, the Youth Volunteers Association of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Shantou Central Blood Station organized a blood drive in the northern campus of GTIIT. Students and faculty actively participated in the donation and devoted their love; the staff and volunteers were patient and jointly contributed to the cause of voluntary blood donation in our country.

Clinically, blood products are widely used in the treatment of various diseases. Sufficient and healthy blood reserves enable various clinical treatments to proceed smoothly. The "Law the People's Republic of China on Blood Donation", which has been carried out since October 1, 1998, is an important measure for China to implement the World Health Organization's initiative of voluntary blood donation. It has increased the number of blood donations in China significantly, and guaranteed sufficient blood source in blood banks across the country. According to regulations, all blood obtained from this blood donation will be used for clinical purposes.

Registration, physical examination, blood collection, and observation. With the cooperation of staff and volunteers from the Youth Association and theblood station, the event went smoothly. Every blood donor completed the blood donation process. The red blood flowed into the blood storage bag along the plastic hose, carrying the blessings of the donors, and bringing hope of life to those suffering from diseases.

"I have been donating blood since 1998, and have donated more than 300 times so far." A retired oldmember of Communist Party of China wearing a red volunteer vest said to the students. Sitting in the first position of the blood donation table, he popularized the knowledge of unpaid blood donation to students. He said that blood donation has become a part of his life.

From 10am to 6pm, blood donors came in an endless steam. "I came here when I saw this activity." "Donating blood can help others." "Regular blood donation is good for my health, and immediate family members can also have priority to use blood." The students described the reasons of donating blood. Some of them had already participated in the voluntary blood donation last year, and said that they would treat blood donation as a long-term persistent habit.

The red blood bridge reignites the other shore. With the warm winter sun and the early morning rain, the blood donated with dedication will eventually show infinite value.
