On March 18th, Guangzhou-Israel Friendship Tree Planting and Biomedician Seminar were held in Guangzhou International Bio-Island. This event aims to promote China-Israel cooperation in academic field. Mr. Peleg Lewi, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou; Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology; Prof. Eli Adjadeff, Dean of Mathematics with Computer Science Program together with the representatives of Guangzhou Development Zone Management Committee, the Bio-Island Management Committee, and more than 20 biopharmaceutical companies participated in this event.
Everyone planted trees of friendship together, wishing the friendship between China and Israel will last forever.
At the meeting, Mr. Peleg Lewi spoke highly of GTIIT for promoting scientific and cultural cooperation between China and Israel and is optimism about China's future scientific and technological development and talents training.
Prof. Lin Danming introduced the basic information and future plans of the University to biopharmaceutical companies. He sincerely invited the companies to GTIIT, saying that GTIIT will always put teaching and scientific research first. With strong demands for talents, a lot of companies expressed their intentions for cooperation with GTIIT in the future.
Teachers from GTIIT Student Affairs Office, RIGS Office had a deeper discussion with the team of the Bio-Island. They determined new plans for the cooperation between the University and the Bio-Island, including fields of academics, internships, and competitions. In the future, the Bio-Island will set up a practical project for the first and the second year students of GTIIT in every summer vacation and will arrange internships in specific start-up enterprises according to students’ personal preferences.
Guangzhou International Bio-Island is important for the
biomedical industry of Guangzhou. It is also a significant part for
economic and social development of Guangzhou. It is committed to creating a
national biomedical innovation experimental zone and building the world's top
Biomedicine and Biosafety R&D Center. Now the Bio-Island has more than
300 biomedical companies and over 20 academician projects.
