The Youth League Committee (YLC) of GTIIT convened its second congress on December 12,2020. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT and Secretary of GTIIT Party Branch; Cao Anding, Secretary of Shantou YLC; Yao Zhen, Secretary of Shantou University YLC and Lawrence Liao, Director of Student Affairs Department of GTIIT attended the meeting. Representatives reviewed and approved the work report of the first committee of the GTIIT YLC, and voted to elect members of the second committee.

Cao Anding fully affirmed the positive role of the GTIIT YLC in serving the university, society and youth. He put forward three requirements to the GTIIT YLC: to guide the young people to follow the Party; to take full advantages of the YLC to solve the needs of young people; to deepen reform and strengthen the cohesion of the YLC. "I hope the young people can be firm in their beliefs and strive to become the leaders of the new era!" Cao gave high expectation to the youth representatives of GTIIT.

"The work of the YLC should adhere to the principle of cultivating people with moral integrity and strive to build solid spiritual support for young students. The YLC should improve its ability to serve the youth." Lin Danming emphasized the importance of a correct values for students majoring science and technology programs. He encouraged youth members to combine personal development with the country's future, and strive to make more contributions to the society.

Seven GTIIT staff and students were elected among nine candidates after group discussions, composing the second committee members of GTIIT YLC.

All the students also watched the promotional video of the 2021 Asian Youth Games at the meeting.
