The first Student Employment and Entrepreneurship (Israeli Business Community) was held at GTIIT on Dec. 6th, aiming to help students fully understand the employment situation and achieve high-quality employment. More than 10 Israeli companies were invited to participate in it while nearly 400 students attended the event.
As the first Sino-foreign cooperative university that has been introduced with the quality educational resources from Israel, the first batch of its graduates was favored by the Israeli companies. Representatives of the participating companies, such as Starry Group, Tetro Co., Ltd., China Israel Exchange Center, PTL Group, HAX Venture Capital Fund, introduced the development of the company and the demand for skills. The person in charge of the China-Israel International Technology Cooperation Industrial Park also shared recruitment information on behalf of the companies from the Park, including Shenzhen Hangke New Material Co., Ltd., Best Pacific International Holdings Limited., and China-Israel Education Investment (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., with the hope of attracting more GTIIT graduates to join them.
During the interview session, students had face-to-face communication with representatives from more than 10 Israeli companies. Although most of the representatives came to GTIIT for the first time, they were impressed with the students' professional quality and innovative ability, and were willing to provide job opportunities to them. "We made a special trip to participate in this event, aiming to recruit outstanding students from GTIIT. Technion enjoys a high reputation for research and teaching globally. Through today's event, I think that under the guidance of professors from the Technion, GTIIT students have also gained rich knowledge. I hope to develop in-depth cooperation with the university in research as well as student internship, and jointly cultivate talents to promote the industry needs," Benny Braunshtain said. Miki Raviv fully affirmed the students'all-round competence after having interviews with the students. "We hope that GTIIT students will not only come to our company for internships, but also work as part-time employees. They can grow up with our senior engineers, and finally join our company's office in Guangzhou as full-time employees. We also provide them opportunities to work in Tel Aviv, Israel."
The students said that they benefited a lot from the event. Also, many undergraduate students came to learn about the company's recruitment process and requirements. They said that after communicating with the company representatives, they have a better understanding of future career plans. "The keynote speeches gave me an in-depth understanding of how science and engineering talents play a role in venture capital field, which greatly broadened my horizons," said Cao Zhijun, a senior student. He Hanglin, a student of Class 2021 said that this event helps students, including those who choose to continue their studies after graduating from GTIIT, to know about the demand for skills, which allows them to have a better plan for the future.
More than 200 GTIIT students will complete their studies and officially graduate in July 2021. Pro-Vice Chancellor Lin Danming said, the students who participated in today's interview session are highly recognized by the Israeli companies, indicating that the university has achieved initial success in talent cultivation. "We will take this event as an opportunity and carry out a series of online and offline employment and education guidance services," he mentioned.
