This noon, Pro-Vice Chancellor Lin Daming, Director of Student Affairs Lawrence Liao, Assistant Professor Kong Bo, and faculty members of Department of Undergraduate Studies, Campus Operation and News and Public Affairs of GTIIT had a special lunch with more than 20 students staying in campus.
During the meal, students chatted with faculty members and asked questions about overseas exchanges during the COVID-19 pandemic, faculty, research projects, the construction of the south campus, canteen and dormitory hygiene. Everyone enjoyed the lunch.
In the face of freshmen's concerns about the difficulty of learning English teaching, Pro-Vice Chancellor Lin Daming shared his experience and encouraged students. "Don't be afraid, don't treat speaking and listening English as difficult things. You need to overcome your inner fear". He also advised students to communicate with foreign faculties more often.
Lawrence Liao and Kong Bo gave students advice on study habits and thinking patterns."Foreign teachers don't push you to study. It all depends on your own initiative and enthusiasm. One of the most important things when you have become a university student is to learn how to manage your time."
During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, GTIIT has also prepared a buffet at half price and delivered moon cakes for students stayed in campus to enable them to feel the warmth when they are away from home.
