As a brand-new campus, Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology remains a mystery for many students. In order to show a more real and comprehensive image of GTIIT, we have launched a series of online sharing activities since March 17. In the first episode, we invited Wang Yuxin, a student majoring in Chemical Engineering, Class of 2022, to unveil the mystery of the campus at the broadcast room of GTIIT on Bilibili. Now let's have a brief review.
After graduating from Shenzhen Foreign Language School, Yuxin chose GTIIT as an important start in her life. Being a studious student for more than a year, Yuxin has played so many roles in the school life: participant of Model United Nations, student assistant, the champion of Hult Prize Grand Challenge, peer mentor, and laboratory assistant. Yuxin freely explored all her possibilities at this beautiful and quiet campus.
With English teaching, the study life can be painful but fulfilling. The international curriculum provides students with a solid academic foundation. Yuxin metioned that in other universities, the Cet-4 and Cet-6, which are emphasized importantly, students here can easily pass the exam with a score of 500 or more (425 for passing) on their usual basis. You may find it hard to adapt to the English teaching model at first, but teachers at GTIIT will adjust the difficulty of the next class according to students' feedback.
It is a common opinion that professor is very difficult to get close to. But it is exactly opposite at GTIIT. Professors not only teach the basic courses, but also pay great attention to whether students can keep up with or not. In addition, professors are willing to invite students to eat pizza and play games, and students are so welcome to ask questions anytime. When it comes to lab courses, students are required to pass the training exam before conducting experiments, which aims to ensure the safety.
Learn from the best
"Learn from the best" is a scholastic attitude of GTIIT. At the master lectures, students around the world are able to get close to the cutting edge of science. Yuxin also shared her experience in lectures given by the Nobel Prize winner, Prof. Aaron Ciechanover; the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhao Dongyuan, and the inventor of usb flash drive, Mr. Dov Moran. She also mentioned that some students had have enough communication with the professors in the master lectures, and they were invited to visit the professor's lab, and maybe even had a valuable opportunity to join the professor's research team.
